Kyran and Amber intitial music magazine ideas

We had 4-5 ideas on names Breakeven! I.R.M, Notion, Genesis or Indie-Go, eventually with some advice from friends around us we decided on Indie-go as it gives a clear image on what the audience can expect when reading the magazine as it mentions the type of music the mag on in the title. We then started discussing what colour scheme we wanted to use for the house style on the front cover and contents of both editions of our magazine, with the title being a way of saying a colour purple we decided that had to be one but we had to choose an accompanying colour we had to decide between red and blue, we used our survey to see which the audience would prefer we also put in other combinations just in case. We decided that our target audience would be 15-17 year olds, male or female so we had to make the magazine up to date with modern indie music artists. Also we had the idea of having a monthly magazine but we asked in out survey just in case the audience would prefer more or less frequent. We also started to think of designs for titles (which you can see on the survey) from these we let the audience decide there preferences. Further more we came up with some ideas on what we wanted our main article to be about we came up with ideas like best of 2011, useful equipment, interviews also displayed on our survey where the audience decide the type of story they want to see.

What have I learnt so far?

As I took media at GCSE level I had already learnt most of the skills being used on this preliminary task such as the rule of thirds, horizon, lighting and keeping the frame tight. The adobe software is new to me as I have not had to use it before so editing the photos is all new to me and inserting words and images are also new to me. Also I have leant how to upload photos onto the web as well as my annotated work and descriptions. The apple Macs I have also worked with before but some of the software on there is new like adobe also using the finder on the Mac to organise work I have learnt to do properly.
