- three sections – ‘features’ ‘every month’ and ‘review’ – separates the three parts of the magazine
- main photograph – main article in magazine – next to the features column – has page number and a brief description of what its about
- at the bottom of the ‘features’ column there is a separate section in a text box advertising an ‘Oasis special’ – this will be a few different articles that are all related to each other
- in the top right hand corner of the page the magazines issue, date and websites are advertised
- All the headings and subheadings are in capital letters and are in bold – makes them stand out from the page. However the short sentence below every subheading is in lower case letters as this is easier to read then upper case letters
- In the descriptions of the articles every reference is in bold – this makes the reader notice it because it stands out from the rest of the text
- Colour scheme – red, black and white – all are colours that stand out next to each other
Sound research. Make sure, when you are drafting your own page, that you look carefully at the font sizes. A common mistake is to have the copy under the subheadings, too big.
