Organisation of my photo shoot's
My first photo shoot was with Lucy Marshall in a car park with lots of forestry around so we can use this to create multiple shots with him in front of the tree or mixed in with the tree. But when I took the camera back to upload the photos I discovered all of them where blurry or to dark. I then had to try the shoot again two days later which luckily went well and I got all the photos I needed including the one on my contents page.
My second photo shoot again had multiple issues I wanted to take lucy again to get the image for my front cover, first of all I had trouble to find a room to take the picture because all of them were full. Finally I found a music room with a piano that I coud use for a few over the shoulder shots of Lucy playing the piano. I also went to my college music classroom to borrow a guitar to take pictures of her in the college room playing it to show that she is multitalented and not just an average singer.
The third photo shoot I did with Erika who is in the contents was a short photo shoot with a few photos as I only wanted to get a few of her against a plain white wall so it was easy to edit and place on the contents. But we had a problem as when I had initially planned for my photo shoot to be on a tuesday but on that day I fell ill with a stomach bug so had to postpone till I was better which was a week later. We then did the shoot and got all the images we needed.
The fourth photo shoot was with the twins for the boys I wanted again for it again to be against a plain white wall so I took them to the same set as Erika. This photo shoot went rather smoothly with few problems part from maybe adjusting of the lighting with the use of white card to reflect light on both the boys and also a few came out blurry but luckily this was the biggest photo shoot so got enough images to cover both the front cover, contents and DPS.
Choosing of the actors was fairly simple I had an idea of who I wanted to be in my article it was just getting time with them that was the difficult bit. Reasons for this where that the boys live in Hull and we dont get to see them very often but luckily the 3 weeks schedule I gave for my photo shoots was when we were visiting them. Also I had trouble to get a photo shoot of Lucy because I have a full college schedule most days and she also had that issue but luckily we both got a period free and could complete our photo shoot then even with the issues. Erika was the easiest of the 3 actors because I spend a lot of time with her so I could do my photo shoot pretty much anytime I was with her so this was simple to complete apart from the fact I fell ill first time I tried it. I did have other actors in mind for my photo shoot like Alan and Max but my partner had already chosen Max as her model so didn't want to cross over as this is not very common for a monthly magazine to have articles on the same model within a year. The problem with Alan was that he just did not want to have his photo taken which was a disappointment as he had a very good indie image .
Organisation of props and costumes was fairly simple because all I really needed for my photos was for them to dress Indie and the props I needed where two mobiles with headphones, guitar and a piano. The mobiles where simple enough as both the boys had got there phones and headphones with them so we just used the ones they had as it then shows there actual taste in phones. The piano had a couple of issues as it isn't very easy to transport a piano anywhere so we had to find a nice looking room with one of them in and luckily the college had a music room with one in so we just this as one of the sets for lucy photo shoot's. The guitar was for lucy photo shoot and for it we wanted to have her playing her own guitar as this is what she is comfortable with and would look more relaxed on the photo shoot but due to parental issues she was not allowed to bring it into school but luckily the school music department leant us one and it still went well. Costume wise I told them the day before to dress up as indie as they could this worked as the boys both dress reasonably Indie anyway so they followed through. Lucy on the other hand was difficult as she did not get my message about dressing Indie but we had a stroke of luck in the fact that she dressed reasonably Indie and also the guitar we got given was fairly Indie. With Erika luckily I got to chose her costume and went with something casual Indie for her photo shoot and also black and white just to connotate she is normal and relaxed and she doesn't dress in anything to extravagant even when at a photo shoot as she is happy with the way she is.
